Mrs. Ingram retired in 1997 after serving 14 years as Nurse Manager for Texas Oncology P.A.in Midland, Texas. Prior to that time she served as Head Nurse at Midland Memorial Hospital and thereafter worked in a private practice clinic. From 1971-1979 Marcia was employed by Casa de Amigos, a social service outreach center, as Executive Director. Casa continues to serve the disadvantaged and the underserved in Midland, Texas. Formerly Marcia taught in the Headstart Program in San Antonio, Texas.

Mrs. Ingram is married to John Ingram. She is the mother of five grown children and has seven grandchildren. Marcia's community involvement includes serving on the boards of Midland Health & Welfare Asso., Texas Commission of Arts & Humanities, Midland Association of Churches- Social Action Committee, Chamber of Commerce Housing Committee, Bd. Of Advisors – Midland Transportation Corp. (Midtran), NOEP (Nurses Oncology Education Program), West Texas Oncology Nursing Society, Advisory Committee for Hospice of Midland, Advisory Committee- Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission and the County Committee on Aging. While serving on the Pastoral Council of St. Ann’s Catholic Church as Secretary, she also chaired the Liturgical Committee and was Coordinator for the Hospital and Convalescent Ministry.

In 1975, Marcia was the recipient of the Optimist Community Service Award. In 2005 the Ingrams moved from Midland to McAllen Texas. Marcia currently works as a medical consultant for her husband’s company, John J. Ingram & Associates and Associated Disability Advocates. In September 2000, Marcia was initially appointed to the Texas State Independent Living Council (SILC) by Gov. George W. Bush. She was reappointed by Gov. Rick Perry. During her tenure she served as secretary for five years. Currently, Marcia is chairman of the Outreach and Education Committee.
